Summer is quickly coming to an end and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t just a *little* bit maybe sorta ready for school to start! 😉 We have had so much fun the past few months but this mama is tired! HA!
To wrap up our fun summer, we did a little abstract painting in the backyard on t-shirts and let’s just say, it was a BLAST!! The kids loved squirting each other and secretly… so did I!
Here’s what you’ll need to paint t-shirts with squirt guns:
- acrylic paint
- cups filled about half-way with water
- squirt guns {end of season sales are the best for this!}
- white t-shirts so you can see the fun
- Huggies® Wipes {Essential because they are gentle on skin but thick enough to clean the mess}
- funnel
- protection for your face
Before you begin, you’ll need to dilute your paint. I don’t have a specific recipe for this but we ended up with about 70/30 water to paint ratio. {You basically just need it thin enough to squirt out of your water guns!}
Next, fill em’ up! We had to get creative because the funnel wouldn’t go all the way in but this ended up working well! We also had a different gun for each color but you could totally do less than this.
Here they are all loaded and ready to go! Let the fun begin! We did this in our backyard when we didn’t need a lot of protection but make sure you check your surroundings to make sure you won’t paint anything you don’t want to! 😉
Creed couldn’t wait for his turn!
The Huggies® Wipes were perfect for wiping off all the paint that “accidentally” didn’t make it on the shirts!
I think the teenager even had a good time! 😉
Don’t worry, she got him back! 😉
What do you think? So cute, huh?!
This was definitely a fun activity that everyone loved!

How did you wash/dry the shirts after? I want to do this for a birthday party and am not sure how long to wait to wash and dry. Thanks!
The shirts need to be completely dry before you wash them. It’s such a fun activity!
