The free DIY workshop project is so cute this month! {Mark your calendars for June 10th} Plus with Father’s Day just around the corner, it would make such a great gift!
I was so excited to make this Home Depot DIY project my own! And today I get to show you!!
I loved the idea and layout of this project but I didn’t need another outdoor game. I decided this design would be perfect for a succulent art planter! I went with this idea because it’ll be something that can be used year round and you could give it to just about anyone as a gift! Plus I love how this project is perfect for any skill level!
Here’s what you’ll need for my project:
- 2′ x 2′ Sanded Plywood {cut to these sizes: (1) 12 1/2″ x 20″ + (2) 2-5/8” x 20” sections + (2) 2-5/8” x 14” sections + (4) 2” x 2-1/2”}
- Clear Acrylic Sheet {needs to be cut to 12 1/2 x 20″}
- 5 mini succulents
- Cobalt Blue Stops-Rust Rustoleum Spray Paint
- Nail Gun
- Triple Thick Poly to seal your wood
- Design for the back {I designed mine in Adobe Illustrator and cut it out with my Silhouette CAMEO. I used my batik technique I taught in THIS POST.
- Before assembling your box, apply your design to the back! You’ll want this to be nice and dry
- Once you make your box and attach your bottom dividers, you’ll add your plants! {It was easier to add them when they were a little damp.}
- Once they are in, attach your acrylic piece!
That’s it! Super easy!
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for June 10th and then head —-> HERE <—- to register!! These FREE workshops really are so fun plus you get to learn something new!!
Don’t forget to check out these other projects today as well!! They are all showcasing their amazing ideas. So cute!
