Good Morning ATT readers! Can you believe we are smack dab in the middle of summer? I mean, it is in full swing and if I can just survive Girls Camp this week, I will be one happy camper! {<—See what I did there?! 😉 } Ha!
I just love the 4th of July. I LOVE everything about it. The colors, the patriotism, the food, the family, it’s just an overall fun-filled holiday! Am I right? So when The Cards We Drew asked us to participate in an Ultimate Red, White and Blue round-up involving 110 amazing bloggers, I had to jump on board!
I love these wreaths right now! They have the funnest colors available and after seeing this cute tutorial, I knew I had to make one!!!
What you’ll need:
- 16″ wire wreath form (The one pictured is 18″ and it is HUGE!) I found this one at Walmart but you can get them anywhere.
- 3 rolls of deco mesh (21 inches x 30 feet) **Lets talk about this for a minute: I bought the more spendy kind at Michael’s, then found some cheap stuff at Walmart so I bought both because I was curious if there was a difference. Guess what?? There is. The cheap stuff is just that, cheap. So if you want a good wreath that will hold up, spend a few more dollars!**
- pipe cleaners
- ribbon (optional)
- scissors
- cutting board
Start by cutting your mesh. This part takes the longest. You will cut your strips 10″ long. You don’t need to be super straight with this either. Cut until your little fingers can’t cut anymore! 😉 With my 3 rolls of mesh, I was able to make THREE 12′ wreaths which are the perfect size for a standard door! If you make them any bigger, you can get approx. 2 wreaths out of it.
Next, tie your pipe cleaners on. Your wreath is divided into sections so I put 2 on each and rotated them so they were spaced out evenly.
Roll your mesh tightly with your hands… then bunch together, 3 pieces at a time.
Add your bunch to the wreath. Twist the pipe cleaner a couple times then wrap around so the tie is at the back. If you want to add ribbon, add it to about every other bunch of mesh!
Oh man! I LOVE IT!! It looks like a giant firework on my door! Isn’t it so CUTE?? Don’t forget to check out all of the other amazing ideas below! There are some talented ladies!
xoxo
Great idea for your patriotic décor! Looks great!!!
