I know I already showed you the upstairs walk through via video, but today I’m going to show you the AFTER SHOTS too!
This picture shows how incredibly TAN it was up there. The carpet was tan, the walls were beige, and even the baseboards were light beige. The window seat was falling apart from the kids beating it to death, and at night, the room was extremely dark.
We first painted the doors, and since we were redoing everything else, we didn’t take them downstairs, we simply propped them up against the walls, and painted them with our Homeright Finish Max and white indoor semi-gloss Behr paint. It worked like a CHARM. I seriously love that sprayer, and if you know me, you know I’m very picky about sprayers. I’ve even told you in the past about a sprayer not to buy {because I wanted to save anyone else the heartache}.
But the Homeright Finish Max is a sprayer I can stand behind 100%.
We patched the walls with FastPatch 30. It dried fast s we could sand it quickly. It worked great.
Then, we decided to case the window to add a little somethin’ somethin’, and now I want to case every single window in my house because it was cheap, and it looks so stinkin’ good!
Pictures speak louder than words. Check that bad boy out…
The walls are WHITE and we LOVE IT. The brightness of the upstairs makes my heart happy.
I know these pictures make it look pinkish, but I promise it’s not.
Then we had Shaw Lifeguard carpet installed from The Boulevard Home Furnishings, and I want to live up there now. We chose the color called POETIC from the No Worries collection.
If you missed our post about building a pool out of carpet, you MUST check it out.
It’s been hard to get my pictures’ white balance to look exactly perfect, so these look a tag blueish, but I promise it’s the perfect shade of white!
The carpet, the walls, the window casings…EVERYTHING looks so good.
Even Sugar our shih tzu loves the new carpet!
The kids have played and played up there since it’s empty. I’m tempted to never put a tv up there since they are actually playing TOGETHER instead of watching every episode of The Voice and Dancing with the stars. š
Now we are onto decorating it! Wish us luck!
xoxo,
Brooke
Y’all did an amazing job! I just love the casing around the window and now I want to do mine.
You MUST show us how to case the window, that looks amazing. I know there are lots of tutorials online but that looks exactly like what I’ve been picturing for my kitchen!
I will. š Stay tuned
Brooke it looks fantastic. the lighter color sure brightened up the room and made it look so much bigger…good job.
