The week of chairs has been really fun over the last five days! If you missed Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 or Day 4, don’t forget to check out the posts! The furniture transformation on the next chair is definitely my favorite transformation of the week. I saved the best for last (in my opinion)! My husband found this chair for me at the local thrift store, and he knew I would like it. He has great taste, and he knows what I like, so he brought this pink beauty home for a mere $20.00. It has sat in the garage for awhile now. It is so comfortable to sit in that I would find myself chatting on the phone with my sisters while I sat in the garage in this chair. So, when I started designing Jill’s House, the style of this chair was PERFECT (with a capital P.) for her space!
The mix of femininity of the chair and the older wooden frame is a fun combo. I painted it with kilz primer and white krylon spray paint in semi-gloss. After it was dry, I took a sheet of 220 grit sandpaper on my electric sander and distressed the heck out of the frame.
They sell a chair/ottoman that is REALLY close to this one at restoration hardware for about $1000. My “knock off” version cost approximately $360. Dan bought the chair for 20.00. We had the chair upholstered for $300.00, and my fabric was purchased at Home Fabrics in Las Vegas for $5.99 a yard. I love it!
Tomorrow you will get to link up your chair transformations! Get ready to wrap up this event by sharing your chair refinishing projects!
I know I am so late to the week of chairs, but that chair is amazing! I have been wanting a chair like this for quite some time. perhaps soon I can get one.
Happy Friday!

Wonderful transformation! I think that is a great price for upholstery too! Only $300 for both pieces! Wow!

I love the fabric, it's a great dirt hiding colour. I bought 4 chairs at an auction for $5 (yes, all four for $5!) that I need to do something with. This series has been great inspiration!
NO WAY! That is so amazing! You picked the perfect fabric and I love the white paint on the wood…..it's just perfect! Good job!
I love this chair. I would like to sit in this chair in all it's glory…Amazing transformation.
I'm obsessed with this chair!!! I have to find one like it. I have the fabric already, I just need a beautiful chair. Great job!!!
Ooooh, this is my favorite. I just took a History of Furniture class and I can tell you that this is a bergere from the French Rococo Louis XIV style. I L-O-V-E what you did with it! Good Job!
I am in LOVE with this chair! Beautiful!
how many yards of fabric did it take to recover the chair?
I honestly cannot remember, but we go off of this guide: https://allthingsthrifty.com/2010/07/how-much-fabric-do-you-need-for.html
