We painted our garage doors and shutters with spray paint! But, the cool part is that my friends at Rust-Oleum, asked me to try out a new spray paint. The new product is Stops Rust Turbo Spray System. It’s meant for big projects, and the paint comes out 4 times as fast than a regular spray can. Plus the cans are 24 ounces which is double the standard 12 ounce cans we are accustomed to.

I love how the black creates contrast and goes well with the red brick and light gray siding. Painting our garage doors and shutters made a big impact to the curb appeal of our home.

We washed the garage doors with soapy water, let it dry completely and sanded it slightly with 220 grit sand paper before we began.
Then, we taped off the garage with painter’s tape and plastic.
It took me less than an hour to spray each door. Honestly, taping off the doors took the most time. Each coat of Turbo took less than 10 minutes, and I coated each door three times waiting about 15 minutes in between coats.
I LOVE how efficient the Turbo was. The paint sprays FAST and it comes out in a 10 inch flat plane. Honesty, it felt like I was using a high-end paint sprayer.

The contrast of the doors against the white border, is soooo good! Plus, to complete the makeover, we replaced the light fixtures.
We completed our project in one weekend. The paint comes out so fast, and it has a special nozzle too. Honestly, the only complaint I have about Turbo is that it only comes in gloss white and black right now. I want it in alllllll the colors!

They have held up perfectly! No we have not had to repaint!
Where do you buy this in St. George and would this work well for trim and metal rain gutters?

So I can do this on my metal garage door just with the spray paint? It will cover and stop rust?
Yes, you definitely could. The Turbo spray paint just saved you a ton of time because of how fast the paint is dispersed. Plus, the spray pattern on regular spray paint isn’t as large as the spray pattern on Turbo.
