Simple Blackberry Whole Wheat Mini-Donuts are an easy breakfast recipe the whole family will love. Just mix, pour & bake your way to a delicious treat to start your day.
Have you ever made homemade donuts before? I used to think it had to be complicated. That is until those adorable little donut makers came out a few years ago. It’s as easy as using a waffle maker. Just mix your batter, fill in the wells & close the lid. In just a couple minutes you have the most perfect little baked mini donuts. I picked up my donut maker at Target for about $20 during a sale. I think now that’s the standard price for them. Which isn’t too bad for something you aren’t going to use all the time. I went a little crazy & it seemed like I had fresh donuts in the house several times a week for a while. They are so light, fluffy & delicious. I couldn’t help myself. I experimented like crazy & the family loved it of course. Their all-time favorite donut recipe ended up being these blackberry whole wheat donuts. So good for a breakfast treat that’s just a little healthier than you would expect.
I like to use homemade jam in my recipes whenever I have some on hand, like I did with these. But you can definitely use your favorite store variety too. In this house anything that includes blackberry jam is a good thing. So it’s no wonder they fell in love with these donuts. They sure are great on a weekend morning during family time or to take to a Sunday morning brunch. I know I always need to make a double batch when I’m bringing them to any gathering. They definitely don’t last long.
