Caramel Krispies Recipe

My friend Michelle made these Caramel Krispies for me and my family a few weeks ago, and I HAD to get the recipe. They are a spin off of the classic Rice Krispie Treats, but I dare say these are BETTER!

We made them for our visiting family in town this weekend, and everyone LOVED them! They are the perfect Christmas treat for neighbors too!

  1. My mom made these treats when we were growing up but never with caramel….sounds great. I have a friend that makes them with brown butter….OH MY! So good.

  2. I’m confused by the “1 milk can full of butter”. The printable version says 2 TBSP LESS THAN 3 cubes, but the other recipe says 3 TBSP. Also, I’m not exactly sure what that means. Can you explain that step for me? Thanks in advance!

    1. Thank you I will fix the recipe! You can use the sweetened condensed milk can to measure the butter, but to make it easier, you need 2 Tbsp less than 3 cubes.

    1. The recipe makes 1 and 1/2 cookie sheets. We usually double it to make 3 cookie sheets.

And we use the empty Sweetened Condensed Milk can to measure the rest of the ingredients.

  3. When you say “milk can” are you referring to the sweetened condensed size milk can? I just to affirm that this is what you mean. Thank you!

  4. I SAW THIS RECIPE ON ANOTHER BLOG BUT HAVEN’T TRIED IT YET BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF SUGAR. WITH WHITE SUGAR, BROWN SUGAR, AND CORN SYRUP EACH HAVING A FULL CUP , THAT’S A LOT OF SUGAR. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE SWEETNESS? I THINK THE REGULAR RECIPE IS VERY SWEET AND DON’T KNOW IF I WANT TO PUT THIS MUCH MORE SUGAR INTO MY KIDS.

    1. No need to yell. 😉 I think we might all be in agreement in this one. This treat is full of sugar and shouldn’t be made on a daily basis. It’s a treat made on rare occasion.

    1. Cookie sheets with sides. It makes 1 full cookie sheet plus an additional 1/2 cookie sheet. I usually double my recipe to fill 3 full cookie sheets.

  5. 4 stars
    An English version
    Using old fashioned ounces.
    4×4’s.
    Take
    4 ounces of marshmallows,
4 ounces of English creamy toffee,(Thornton s if possible)
4 ounces of of golden sugar syrup,
    Slowly melt in a saucepan.
Turn up heat and let it bubble for 1 minute,
Stir in 4 ounces of rice crispies,
Pour in a buttered or silicone 8inch by 8 inch cake tin.

  6. I love rice crispy treats. One of my favorites was made with butterscotch morsels added to the marshmallow combo and Krispies.
