Hey ATT readers! It’s Lauren from Tastes Better From Scratch and I’m excited to be back to share a yummy treat with you all! Since summertime is full of BBQ’s and picnics, I thought I’d share my go-to treat for those type of gatherings—cupcakes! They’re easy to make, they transport easily, they don’t require any serving utensils, and they’re the perfect little size. Plus these chocolate cupcakes have an oreo cream frosting that is to die for! Some of my favorite desserts are made with Oreos. Like this Mint Oreo Layer Dessert and this Chocolate Cake with Oreo Cream Filling.
I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love Oreos, so hopefully you’re all going to love this recipe! A simple chocolate cupcake with a smooth and delicious Oreo cream frosting! YUMMMM! It was really hard not to eat the batch of frosting before piping it on these cupcakes. Oh boy is it good!
Chocolate Cupcakes with Oreo Cream Filling
From Tastes Better From Scratch
*Makes 2 dozen cupcakes
Ingredients:
1 batch chocolate cupcakes
1 1/2 cups butter (3 sticks)
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 – 4 Tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla
16 oreos, crushed, plus more for topping
Directions:
Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
For the frosting, cream the butter with electric beaters until light and fluffy. Add powdered sugar and beat well. Add vanilla. Add enough cream to make a good frosting consistency. Stir in crushed Oreos. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes. Top with an Oreo.

These look great! Did I overlook it, or is the amount of vanilla to use in the icing omitted?
