Colorful Farmhouse Style Shelves

I introduced you to Stacia’s house a few weeks ago, and today I get to share her colorful SHELVES! We still need to put some photos in the picture frames and a few accessories need to be moved slightly, but I couldn’t wait. Who needs a perfect picture anyway? I say that’s not real life. 

Stacia is just like me. She loves COLOR! It makes me so happy when I find someone who wants to decorate with color these days. A lot of people are decorating in neutrals, and although I think they are beautiful, I know I wouldn’t be able to handle it in my own home. I’m just too obsessed with colorful things. 

She just moved in a few months ago, so decorating the shelves was top priority on my “to do” list for Stacia. you can’t have empty beautiful built in shelves. Can I get an AMEN? 

We bought a ton of colorful books at the thrift store, and used them as the main pops of color in the shelf decor. 

We added splashes of greenery and flowers throughout the shelves too. HomeGoods was my best friend for this project. The small wooden bowls {similar ones HERE} from Target were the perfect planter pots, too. 

 

Stacia gave me the best compliment ever when she said, “The shelves make me happy just looking at them.”

They still look clean, and not over decorated. 

My favorite little spot has to be the coral area on the top left.

Disregard the tags on some of the decor items. I’ll be taking my scissors over next time I go to her house to remove them. HAHA. 

I absolutely love them, and I know she does too. 

Some of the greenery came from TaiPan trading, but most of it came from my trusty HomeGoods. 

I told Stacia that I would kill the real plants fast, so the challenge is on to see how long she can keep them alive. 

A few of the decor items got moved slightly on the bottom left shelf, and I didn’t notice before I took the pics, but you get the idea. 

Her house is a dream come true. It’s bright and airy in there, and we are adding color like crazy in our decor. It has been such a blast.
