We had this yummy recipe for Sunday dinner yesterday!
During my childhood, my dad would make dinner sometimes, and this recipe is one of my favorite foods in my memory. My kids love it too. In fact, I make it for Sunday dinner a lot because the prep isn’t intense, and it cooks in the crockpot while we are at church.
Crock Pot Pork Chops and Potatoes
Prep Time 10 minutes
Servings 6
Ingredients
- Pork Chops I like the boneless kind that are about 1/2-3/4 inch thick {one per person in your family and then a few extras for left overs}
- Red Potatoes {2 potatoes per family member and then 4 extras for left overs}
- Carrots {1 per person in your family or a large handful of baby carrots.}
- Garlic Salt
- Salt and Pepper
- 3 cans Cream of Chicken soup concentrate
- 3 cups Water
- 2-3 Tablespoons Butter
Instructions
-
Brown both sides of the pork chops in the butter, sprinkle garlic salt generously on each side of the chops. I brown mine until they have dark brown edges.
-
After your chops are browned, place them in the bottom of your crock pot.
-
Add approximately 3 cups of water to the pan that you browned your meat in.
-
Stir until the juices, butter, and garlic salt are released from the pan and into the water. {It will look brown}.
-
Pour 3 small cans of Cream of Chicken soup into a separate bowl. Add the seasoned water into the soup and stir until mixed well. {set aside briefly}
-
Slice the potatoes into thin slices and place in the crock pot on top of the browned pork chops.
-
Add the carrots.
-
Pour your soup mixture over the top of the potatoes and carrots and stir well.
-
Add salt and pepper to the top.
-
Cook on high for 4-6 hours depending on the amount of pork chops. I cook mine for 6 hours with 6 pork chops.

Fast and Easy Alfredo Sauce Recipe
Looks wonderful – I will have to try that!
Been doing this for years with cream of mushroom, but last time I was out and only had c. of chicken. What a wonderful improvement. Your so right. Easy and Yummy 🙂
Yum yum made this 2night. I tweaked a bit by using garlic flakes rather then garlic salt (gotta watch that dam salt monster ) and use 1 can of cr. of chicken
and 1 can of cr. of mushroom. Used 3 thick chops 3 potatoes, 5 carrots, 8oz. of fresh mushrooms. 2 cans of soup made plenty of gravy. Yummy.
Just put this in the crock pot looks good. The only problem is that this recipe is advertised as glutin free but has three cans of cream of chicken soup . Cream of chicken soup has wheat in it therefore the recipe is NOT glutin free.
Hi Daniel! Not sure where you read gluten free but it wasn’t on this post. Thanks for catching that though!
