If you know someone going through breast cancer use a quick coat of paint and make this DIY breast cancer plaque to brighten their day!
I have a friend who is going through breast cancer right now. This is the first time for me having a friend, my age, go through something like this. It has equal parts broke my heart and really inspired me. Although she has 4 little kids, she has held her head high with grace and dignity through chemo, surgery, and maybe even more chemo to come. I wanted to give her something handmade because I love handmade gifts and came up with this cute little sign.
I’m Anna and I typically blog over at Practical and Pretty but am so happy to be sharing an idea here with you today!
What you need for your Breast Cancer Plaque DIY
- Wood Plaque
- FolkArt Milk Paint in Pink Dogwood
- 1″ Foam Brush
- Gold Foil Vinyl
- Cricut
- Acrylic Sealant
- This cut file here
Start by painting your wood plaque with your Milk paint. This paint has the coolest texture. I am always looking for other excuses to use it again!
While that is drying, cut your file. I have created this exact file for you to use here. If you want to make one with your favorite font, then do that in whatever project space you prefer! I like my Cricut so I always make my projects in Design Space.
Then I used transfer tape to place the vinyl after making sure the paint was completely dry.
This vinyl will have a hard time sticking without an acrylic sealant over it so if you want it to last longer, I highly suggest spraying a sealant over it! I like the look of matte as opposed to gloss.
After this had dried, I was all done!
If you have a family member or friend going through something similar, this might make their day just a little bit better!
