Have you started to decorate for Christmas yet? Are you a stickler to the “no Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving” rule? This year I decided to make a few of my decorations, and December can be crazy so I wanted to show you how to make this cute gingerbread man before I snap my fingers and it’s MARCH!
Supplies needed for this project:
Dremel® Rotary Tool with a flat cutting wheel
High Quality Ply Wood
Jigsaw
Pencil
Poster Board
Stain in the color of your choice
White Caulk
Lint Free Cloth
Small Amount of Water
Step 1: Make your Pattern. Fold your poster board in half and draw a gingerbread man. Cut him out with scissors and unfold the poster board.
Step 2: Trace it onto the wood. Use a pencil to trace the gingerbread pattern onto the wood carefully.
My ginger bread man is about 18 inches tall.
Step 3: Cut your gingerbread man out with a jigsaw. Warning, don’t press to hard or you will break your wood. {I MIGHT or might not be speaking from experience here…RIP first gingerbread man. #goodtimes}
Step 4: Carve snowflakes. Take a Dremel tool with a cutting disk and carefully carve snowflakes in your gingerbread man. It’s SO much fun! Here is a quick video showing just how easy it is. {I used my cordless Dremel Max and it worked like a charm!}
Make a line at a time with the Dremel and continue until you have as many snowflakes as you prefer.
Step 6: Let the stain dry overnight.
Step 7: Fill the snowflakes with white caulk. Use your finger to fill the snowflakes with caulk. Be careful that you don’t buy clear caulk. You want it to stay white.
Step 8: Immediately after filling the snowflakes with caulk, wet a lint free cloth and wipe off the excess caulk.
Repeat steps 7 and 8 until all snowflakes are filled.
Step 9: Add a ribbon scarf.
Isn’t he so cute! He cost less than $15 to make in supplies.
Make one! It’s so much fun!

Brooke
