Hey babes! It’s Kenz here, from Interiors by Kenz. Thanksgiving is approaching fast, and if you’re anything like me you do NOT have time to waste on excessive table preparations. When it comes to holidays, I take a more simple approach, especially with table settings. I decided our table decor would have aNative American influence. Tribal, if you will.
I decided to whip up some practical teepee place settings. They are fast and functional! Literally anyone could do this. They are inexpensive and adorable.
The supplies needed for this Thanksgiving craft are simple. I used 15″ napkins, paper straws, twine, scissors, and tape.
I cut the corner of the napkin to make the edges rounded.
Then I cut the inside corner to create a circle in the center of the napkin.
I placed a tiny piece of tape on the corner so that it would hold together.
I rolled the napkin into a cone, like you would a party hat.
I used a piece of twine to tie together three paper straws.
Once you have the teepee frame standing, you can drop the napkin right over it.
If you want to get really fancy, you can write the names of your guests on the teepees. But only if you’re fancy!
And just like that you’ve got yourself a Thanksgiving place setting that even Pocahontas would approve of.
Since you saved so much time on this simple table setting, you have so much extra time to make a few extra pies to send my way!
Can you make a wigwam out of a paper napkin? Northeast Native Americans lived in wigwams.
This is super cute, Kenz!
I love this table setting idea– I hate it when the table is so cluttered that there’s no room for all my food! the teepees are cute and functional 🙂
Totally awesome! Such a great idea and would certainly be a hit with my kiddos. Kenz is awesome!
Cute, I used this idea for thanksgiving. I did red plates with a decorative desert plate in a Thanksgiving theam in the middle and a red napkin and orange straws. It was so pretty everyone loved it. I got everything at the dollar store for 1$ also. so it was inexpensive as well. Thank you for the idea.
