I shared a sneak peek of my fall mantle on my Instagram page a few days ago, and one of the first comments was, “Is that a wreath hanging on your TV?” Well, let me be completely honest here. I don’t love our TV above my mantle. But, the layout of my living room is so much better with it up there. So, if I hang a cute wreath on it, maybe I can convince the spouse and my kids that we don’t need a TV in that room. What do you think ? Will my ploy work? I’ve also considered building a faux window of sorts to camouflage the TV even more. What do you think? Should we embrace this new situation?!
The good thing is that fall is finally around the corner and decorating for fall is the best. Maybe it’s the ambiance of pumpkin spice in the air, or the ability to finally wear hoodies without sweating. I don’t know, but by the time fall comes around, we are definitely in better moods around here. Maybe the real reason is that the kids are finally back in school. Shhhh don’t tell them that.
Almost everything on my fall mantle this year is from JOANN® and the seasonal section has a ton of cute decor! I had a blast deciding what I wanted. But my favorite way to decorate seasonally is to find elements that I can use year round! Maybe it’s my logical brain that takes over, but I love justifying what I buy by saying things to myself like “All I have to do is put bones in those baskets and it will totally work for Halloween!” or “If I put two flags sticking out the top of this vase, it will be darling for the 4th of July!” Anyone else out there like me? Are we crazy? Don’t answer that.
The elements that I circled below could all be adjusted for year round decorating! In fact, the cute arrow chalkboard sign was found in the WEDDING section!
I added some pumpkin doodles with leaves to spice it up with Fall.
The gold candle lantern was one of my favorite finds at JOANN® because all I need to do is replace the cute twig berries with pine and it will totally transform into Christmas decor.
The amount of boutique pumpkins that they had was insane and amazing. I loved all of the different velvet pumpkins, the feather pumpkins, the glitter pumpkins, and so forth, but I ultimately decided on the classic-style pumpkins for my home. But, I was really close to choosing otherwise!
The over-sized acorns and white pom stems were something that I couldn’t resist, and I loved that they both are something that you don’t see often!
I used a few stacks of neutral books to create a few level differences, and I love how classic and simple the mantle turned out.
I bought grass and leaf sprays and stuck them into floral foam to spill out of the buckets, and then I put a bit of burlap into each to cover the foam.
Any bets how long the wreath will stay hanging on the tv?
What do you think? Are you ready to tackle your fall projects?!
Thank you JOANN® for partnering with me on this fun project.
Happy fall decorating, friends!
xoxo,
Brooke
