If you have ever had the Monte Cristo Sandwich at Disneyland, you are in for a treat today! This recipe is inspired by that deliciousness in the Blue Bayou and New Orleans Cafe! The Donut Monte Cristo Sandwich is going to change your life. It’s THAT good.
The most important ingredient you need for this recipe is Cache Valley Cheese {pronounces cash}, a Utah local treasure. I’ve grown up in Utah my entire life, and Cache Valley is my go-to brand for delicious cheese. They have been making cheese for over 75 years! The other day, I was driving home to Southern Utah from Holden {my home town}, and I stopped at their factory in Central Utah. My kids thought it was really fun to see where cheese is actually made.
Ingredients:
- Cache Valley Sliced Havarti and Cache Valley Sliced Swiss!
- Two glazed donuts from your local bakery
- Your favorite sliced turkey and ham, powdered sugar
- A jar of raspberry preserves {I bought seedless so it was more like a sauce}
Layer the turkey, ham, havarti, and swiss between two donuts.
I grilled my monte cristo with my panini press.
After a few minutes, the cheese was spilling out deliciously!
I dusted the sandwich with powered sugar, and cut it in half.
To make the raspberry sauce, scoop out a large spoonful of raspberry preserves into a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds and then stir.
Dip the sandwich into the raspberry sauce and enjoy!
My kids were literally fighting over this sandwich when I made it. I had to make a second one so that no one was mad.
You should make it, you won’t regret it!
To find the delicious Cache Valley Cheese in Utah and surrounding areas, head to Walmart, Smiths, Maceys, Fresh Market, Harmons and more.
Have a great weekend!
