High Style Craft Storage

Hi thrifty friends!  I am so happy to be here at All Things Thrifty for another contributor post–sooooo excited to be back.  I hope you remember me from my others posts on my DIY “upholstered” chair with fabric and Mod Podge, my DIY Art Canvases and my DIY glass etched vase, but as a reminder, I am Tasha and I blog over at Designer Trapped in a Lawyer’s Body.

Today I am going to show you a high style option for craft storage that is easy and fairly inexpensive.  I have LOVED using mine in my home office/craft room.

Materials Needed:

  • Ikea Bygel rails and s-hooks {if you don’t live near an Ikea, you can order these items on Amazon}
  • Ikea Fintorp flatware caddies
  • Gold metallic spray paint
  • Gold paint pen

Steps:

1)  Spray paint all of your Bygel rails, s-hooks and metal support rings for your Fintorp caddies with metallic gold spray paint.

2) After your paint dries, hang the Bygel rails where desired, using the screws provided.  The screws are silver, but DON’T WORRY.  We will take care of that in a moment!

3) Once your rails are hung, use a Gold metallic paint pen to “paint” the screw heads gold so that they match your rails.  So easy and brilliant, if I do say so myself.  I was pretty proud of that solution!

4) Add your s-hooks and arrange your Fintorp components wherever you like!  Then load them up.  I store my most commonly used craft supplies on my wall.  Those include scissors, wet wipes {I guess I’m messy}, markers, paint pens, paint color chips, Mod Podge, glue, some acrylic paints, paint brushes, etc.  I left one spot for a faux plant just to add some organic texture.  I love that it holds a lot of supplies and is functional, but super pretty, too!

This is a fast and easy project and I just love the results!  Check it out!
