Hi friends! I’m so excited to show you some progress pictures of the new house! I’m part of a fun blog hop so make sure you check out my friend Courtney at The French Country Cottage if you haven’t seen her house yet, and then Traci from Beneath my Heart at the end of this post!
If you can’t remember what the house looked like when we moved in, check out the before pictures HERE. It was a miracle that we got this beautiful house. So many of my neighbors have commented that they didn’t know the previous owners were even moving! The house never went on the market officially, and we learned about the opportunity through a friend. To find out more of the miracles that had to happen for us to get our dream house, check out my “When Miracles Happen” post!
We are taking our time to make every decision on this house, because it’s got so much soul! I don’t want to strip it of that, and it was beautiful before we moved in. The kitchen is the wild card, and I still cannot decide if we should paint the cabinets or not. So, that tells me I’m not ready to make the decision. So, in the mean time, we are updating the areas that I’m sure about.
We just painted the entire main level Chantilly Lace {a simple white paint color} to lessen the warm tones in the house. It turned out amazing! The house was a light tan before, and this updated it soooo much!
My cute chairs are from Wayfair, and my couch was from a local furniture store called Passport.
We haven’t started decorating many of our rooms yet, but we have tackled out guest room. For more details on the guest room, go to this post.
My daughter Oaklyn’s room was the very first room we decorated in our home, and she helped me pick out every detail. It was so much fun!

The chicken coop and the greenhouse has been so much fun to add a little pizzaz to too!
I’m a Haven Mentor at the 2018 Haven Conference in Charleston, SC and I am soooo excited! They asked me to answer these fun questions, so here it goes!
What is your best advice for a blogger? Be yourself! You should be blogging about something that you feel passionate about. If you are still worried about “what should I be blogging about,” then maybe you need to stop, take a break, and reflect if it’s really for you.
What is your best advice for a new Haven Maven attendee? Have fun and connect with people! Take a lot of notes that you can refer back to when you are ready to tackle a specific subject. For example, if you aren’t ready to tackle SEO, its ok to put that on your “later” to do list.
Who are YOU most excited to see/meet at Haven this year? Oh. My. Gosh! So many people! Some of my dearest friends are on the Haven Team! I love that I get to reconnect with dear friends like Mandi Gubler from Vintage Revivals, Katie from Bower Power, Beth from Home Stories A to Z, Rhoda from Southern Hospitality, Traci from Beneath my Heart, Chris from Just a Girl, Stacy from Not Just a Housewife, Bethany from Reality Daydreams….man I could go on an on!
Thanks for listening, and if you are going to be at Haven, please introduce yourself! I cannot wait!
Now if you are participating in the blog hop, head over to Traci from Beneath my Heart!
THANK YOU for going white. My parents just repainted their upstairs and went with cream. I hate it! White is so open, clean, and CLEAN. Love clean. 🙂 Good luck with your cabinets. I’m with ya on that- love the wood but white would be pretty too. Eek!
