If you have parties for your kids every year, you deserve an extra large glass of whatever your favorite drink is. I give you permission. Creed turned 5 a few weeks ago, and we had his friend birthday party this weekend. His friends are freakin’ adorable. I love them all. But these two are kind of my faves. š
The birthday boy below was definitely the Star of the day. š
We don’t do parties every year at our house. In fact, we don’t do parties every other year either. We have a friend birthday party at ages: 5, 8, 12, and 16. So, when those years come around we do go all out. Check out Londyn’s Cake Wars Party. It was fun too!
Just so you know I’m not angry at you if you do throw a party yearly. I’m pretty jealous that you have that kind of stamina and energy. Because after spending a few hours with 15 five year olds, I was a little frazzled. But, I was happy I did it of course, and Creed was in Star Wars Heaven.
I’ll share more details soon, but I wanted to show you these cute costumes as soon as possible since they were definitely the hit of the party, and I was trying to explain to my sister how we made them, and honestly sometimes it’s just easier to SHOW someone, ya know!?! š
As part of the festivities, we made each child their very own Jedi Padawan costume because our party was a Jedi Training party! Thanks to my friend Jo, the costumes were a cinch.
Step 1: Buy 20″ of felt per costume needed.
Step 2: Cut 20″ of felt starting on the fold side. Leave the fabric folded. {see video for details}
Step 3: Cut a 6″ slit in the middle of the top for your head to go through.
Step 4: Slip costume over your head and tie a rope around your waste!
Check out the process in the video below:
I hope you had a great weekend!
xoxo,
Brooke
Please pin this tutorial! THANK YOU!
How darling!
How long did you make these? 20″ wide but how long is my question.?
Thank you!
It was just the length of the fabric so I only made one cut! Hope this helps!
