Hey hey All Things Girlie peeps! I’m Jessica from Mom 4 Real, and I am so excited to be here!I am the mom of a true girlie girl. Recently we gave her room a little makeover, and now, we made a little sign for her door. I mean, we wouldn’t want someone to make a wrong turn thinking it was her brothers room or something! This was such a fun project…let me show you how we made it.
We started by cutting out some fabric letters using our Silhouette and some fabric transfer paper. No worries if you don’t have a cutting machine…you can buy iron on letters just about anywhere now!
Once the letters were cut out, we ironed them onto some coordinating fabric.
We then flipped the fabric over and sewed a thin seam up each side and the bottom. After those were sewn, we sewed a pocket across the top for a dowel to fit through.
The sign part is pretty much finished at this point, so Kate picked out some ribbon to hang it with.
We slid a dowel through the pocket at the top (like a curtain), and hot glued a long strand of ribbon around each end of the dowel.
That’s it! Now our little sign was ready to hang on Kate’s door. She absolutely loves it, and it is nice and quiet when she opens and closes her door.
So…do you have a little girl that needs a sign on her door???
Thank you so much for having me, Brooke!
I hope you will come visit me over at my little blog, Mom 4 Real and see what I’ve been up to!
Super cute!! Love the patterns you chose!!
This is cute…I’m sure you can alter it for a boyish theme 🙂
