I’m officially old. The amount of excitement I have for our new carpet in my house proves it. Christmas came early. We now have new carpet!!! Look how pretty it looks by my Christmas tree!
To watch the process check out our video:
After living in our new home for two years exactly this week, the “builder beige” carpet is GONE! We can finally call our home 100% ours! As you can see from the before pictures below, we needed new carpet badly.
I was so excited to learn about LifeProof carpet sold exclusively at The Home Depot. If you are like us, pets and kids are soooo hard on carpet. We ripped out our carpet in our last house too!
Understandably, the budget was too tight upon buying our new dream home two years ago, and to pull the trigger on such a large purchase wasn’t possible. New carpet wasn’t in the cards then, but it has been high on our priority list ever since. We’ve limped by with professional carpet cleanings and professional pet treatments since the previous owners had indoor pets and we do too. We also personally cleaned the carpets ourselves as often as possible.
It’s a huge relief to finally have new carpet, especially LifeProof carpet. I LOVE the lifetime pet stain warranty; the limited lifetime stain and soil warranty; and the 25-year wear and tear warranty.
When we started the process of searching for the right carpet, the project snowballed into a painting project too. Does that happen to you too? It lights a fire in me and before long, the entire basement was painted white! HAHA. Deadlines do that to me.
I cannot BELIEVE how much brighter it looks. The dark tan walls and dark tan carpet was too heavy for me. Look how bright and airy it looks and feels now!
The pad we chose is called Future Foam by Tempurpedic.
The carpet we chose is called LifeProof Game Face and the color is Mist.
I love the small square pattern and the tone of gray is really great! It’s very soft, and the pad is great too! Sugar our shih-tsu especially loves it!
She couldn’t resist the new carpet and started rolling around on it immediately!
The stairs were a hard decision because I considered wood treads like the ones we installed in our last house. But ultimately, we decided on carpet. I love how wood treads look, but they are slippery and for now I think carpet is the best choice.
The FREE installation and carpet removal was amazing. The Home Depot team did great, and the installers were efficient, fast, friendly and did a GREAT job.
Even the Home Depot associate that helped us order the carpet was amazing! He made my son a balloon animal.
They even let me bring home as many carpet sample boards that I wanted so that I could see the colors in the right lighting and location.
New carpet for Christmas was the best idea, and I am soooo happy with the result!
If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below!

I agree! Thanks for stopping by!
I love this lifeproof carpet and it lives up to its name. Paint was spilled not seen til the next day and came out with just a vacuum. Can’t say enough good things about this carpet.
That is AMAZING!!!
Thanks for sharing 😉
Did you install it yourself?
No, The Home Depot Installed it.
