Today, I took Melissa’s #lovethehomeyouhave challenge. Specifically I choose “Day 14” and spruced up my front door and porch.
In the back of Melissa’s new book Love the Home you Have, she gives short challenges to help boost your mood and adoration of your home. I love it! What a fun idea. It’s easy to get in a rut and look only at what we dislike about our surroundings. I love how positive the book is, and how easy it inspires me to make simple changes to help us enjoy our homes on a daily basis.
Her book is absolutely darling, and Melissa’s down to earth approach to life is contagious and inspiring.
Throughout the book, there are tons of these darling illustrated quotes.
I ran to the store, spent $30 on flowers and planted the empty pots. It’s amazing what 10 minutes and a few colorful flowers can do for your mood!
I swept the front porch, and spruced up the door with a wreath from HomeGoods.
It feels so much better, and it feels welcoming.
Thank you Melissa for inspiring me to Love the home I have!
Check out the other bloggers’ posts that took the challenge today too!

Oh my gosh I love those pots of flowers!! And the little basket hanging on the window is genius! I have a window like that….did you use a Command hook for that?
Thank you Lori. Yep! Command hooks are the best!
I definitely need this! it’s so easy to see the endless pictures of Instagram and Pinterest-worthy homes and now think your home is worth anything. We live very humbly and simply but there is something to be thankful for, always something to love!

Those pots are so fun!!!!
Those pots are so fun, so cheery!! I love this challenge. I’m so excited that you are a part of it, your post is inspiring me to do some planting. Thank you for being a part of this day!!! xoxxo
Your entryway has inspired me! I am in rut, I have pushing back negativity and trying to focus on the good. While my entryway isn’t horrible, there is definitely something missing, therefore I am starting the” 31 day challenge” with day #14. I can’t wait to get this party started!
Thank you for the inspiration!
Chris
So bright & beautiful!
I love the beautiful happy flowers and bright door. What a great thing to see everyday as you come home. It would definitely make me smile! And, I love the idea of the book. I think too many times I wish for a different home instead of loving the one I’m already in and can afford. It’s amazing how by doing a few things it can bring new life and a new love to what you already have.
The pots are so cute, but I can’t stop looking at your door!! Amazing! That color is my love language. 🙂 xoxo
Perky and fun!
Its amazing what a few pots and colorful flowers will do to your front porch!! Beautiful!
