How to make a Holiday Buffalo Check Wreath Trio

Hey friends! If you have been following us over on our social media channels, you know that we JUST moved into our dream home… like 48 hours ago. #pinchme It’s been so fun to get things put away and I love that it is already starting to feel like home. I’m trying to decorate for Christmas as fast as I can so that our home can feel like the holidays as quickly as possible! I started at the front door!

Don’t you feel like the front door can say so much about a home? I love me a good Welcome sign or mat, so I knew I needed to get that taken care of asap!! Off I went to my local

store to try and find some goods so that I could create a fun, cherry, Christmas door!

A few hours later and I have everything I need to make this project happen! Here’s what you’ll need too:

First up, you need to measure the INSIDE of your board. Once, you have that measurement, cut your fabric as close to that as you can. The measurement for my fabric was 10 1/2 inches square.

Next, spray the back of your pre-cut fabric really well with spray adhesive and apply it to your board.

While your fabric is drying, wrap your garland around your embroidery hoop putting drops of hot glue sporatically along the way to hold it in place.

Next up, stain your frame. This isn’t mandatory but I just wanted a little darker look to my frames… which I decided after applying the fabric. Ha! {so you could apply this before the fabric if you wanted}

Once the staining is done and the wreath is wrapped, add whatever extra cuteness you want! I found these little holiday picks and loved them. And then finished it off with a bow!

Before you add your cute J and Y — paint them. I went with a classic Christmas Red and I love how they turned out. {This only takes a couple minutes and they dry even faster.} Then I secured the letters with a quick brad nail in each corner.

To hang, I used command strips. I didn’t want them to bang every time the door opened or closed so this was my best option.  I leveled the top frame and then went about two inches down on the other two. I LOOOOOVE how it turned out!

I tied the ribbon to the wreath holder so that it looked like it’s hanging, even though it’s not actually holding any weight.

Lastly, tie a bow on the top. I love how it gives it that finished look!

I loved this cute tin crate from JOANN that says Home Sweet Home!  Since this is our new house, it felt right!

The cute pillow set and plaid throw blanket are from Jo-Ann as well! Aren’t they perfect?!

Seriously. Someone come knock so I can open my cute door! 😉 Love it!

Now I need to decide if I’m going to PAINT this door of mine!

What do you think? Should I paint it!?!

xoxo,

Brooke

PS Send me good vibes this week. I have a lot of Christmas shopping to catch up on! I’m kiiiiiinda behind!
