Hey guys, it’s Lauren visiting again from Tastes Better From Scratch.
Happy October! We’re in full-throtle Halloween mode at our house. My little boy is SO excited for trick-or-treating, and I love that he’s finally at the age where he is really into holidays. I plan to capitalize on his excitement by making lots of fun holiday foods, like these Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting, and these adorable Halloween Pizzas. We used a few fun ingredients to make ghosts, spiders, mummies and jack-lantern pizzas.
We made these pizzas last year and everyone loved them! We make homemade pizzas all the time at our house–you can see some of my favorite pizza recipes here. These Halloween pizzas are tasty and really fun to involve the whole family. This is a tradition we plan on doing every October, and I hope you love them too!
Mini Halloween Pizzas
Ingredients
- 1 ball homemade pizza dough
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 lb cheese I used a round of fresh mozzarella, but shredded works well too
- Topping ideas: Pepperoni bell peppers, olives, onion, pineapple, parsley, salami, Canadian bacon
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 450°F.
-
Divide pizza dough into 4 portions.
-
Roll or pat each portion into an 8-inch circle and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes -- dough will be just set and only lightly browned on the bottom.
-
Spread each crust with pizza sauce. Top with desired toppings to make Halloween designs!
-
For Ghosts--cut a thin round of mozzarella. Cut the round into a ghost shape. Use diced olives for the eyes.
-
For a Mummy: cut a thin round of fresh mozzarella. Slice the round into strips, for the mummy bandages. Use sliced olives for the eyes.
-
For the spider: Use pepperoni slices to make the body of the spider, sliced green bell pepper for the legs, and olives for the eyes.
-
For the Jack-O-Lantern. Use for favorite toppings to make a fun jack-o-lantern face!
-
After your toppings have been added, bake each pizza for an additional 5-8 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
These pizzas are so cute! I totally want to make these with our kids!
