This month’s FREE DIH workshop project is so cute and can be made in an afternoon!

I loved the ones they shared! However I decided to think outside the box and do things a little different!
To start out, we used a kreg jig to create pocket holes to screw our boards together. The instructions call for a tongue and groove board and after searching high and low {with a HD associate} we couldn’t find any. So we improvised.
After getting our holes drilled and our boards attached, we drew a big circle. This trick is one I have been using for years. Place a nail in the middle, measure your string length and away you go.
Perfect circle.
Using a jig saw, we cut out our circle.
Once we got our circle cut out, we decided our project needed a little height so using some left over wood, we put these two together and then spray painted them gold…. Are you still with us? 😉
Now to stain. This was hard because with the holidays there are so many amazing colors but ultimately this turned out way better than I expected!
Don’t you agree?! I love it!
Both the greenery and the bow {which lights up!!} were purchased at Home Depot in their seasonal section! I am loving how this turned out and I can’t wait for December to get here so I can hang it on my door!
If you want to join in on this free, fun DIH workshop, head here ! This will be held on October 20th from 6:30-8pm. These really are so fun and I love that it gives you a chance to use and get comfortable with power tools! I know that with each of these workshops, my confidence has increased! Win!
Some of my friends participated too! See what they did with their holiday door hangers:
Ok, this is darling! Turned out so cute!
This is so much fun! I love that it lights up too.
Thanks V! Your snowman was so cute too!
This is soooo cute! I love it! Another way to attach the board together if you don’t have a jig is just nail in another board going vertical on the backside. This is how we make all of our reclaimed pallet board signs because we don’t have a jig to make pocket holes.
Yes!! Thanks for sharing that tip!
What a great take on the original project! Love this idea!
Love your creative take on this! The neutral and rustic ornament are awesome! Love it!
Wow! Something most UNIQUE & CREATIVE! Nice job!
