Here I sit with my mouth hanging wide open.
Dresser before:
Reverse stencil painted dresser.
If you are against painted furniture, this might change your mind. I am kind of freaking out right now. I am in love with this concept. I love the end result. It changes the way I think. It inspires me. I can’t stop thinking about it. Thank you Susan Custer for sending me the link.
The dresser was posted by Mirium over at Flor.com. Head over there and see the full process of this furniture transformation. Refinishing furniture is what I do, and this was done BEAUTIFULLY. I cannot say enough about this. I. HAD. TO. SHARE. IT. Holy moly.
Head over there and give her some ? (love) and comments. 🙂
This project is the perfect example of what qualifies for a blue ribbon from All Things Thrifty. I don’t give these awards out very often, but this project definitely deserves it!

umm…DANG! is the only word I can even come up with. Speechless.
That is just plain amazing!
Holy…that is so amazing!!! I cannot believe how fantastic that looks…I would NEVER have thought of that!
Thank you for posting this. I just got an old dresser off the sidewalk. It is an antique and the front of the drawers are a nice burl wood. But there are parts that are really beat up that have to be painted. I was trying to think of a way to leave some of the beautiful wood exposed while painting the thrashed parts. this is perfect!!
Thanks again!
WHOA!! That is awesome!! Love it!
That looks awesome!! I have never seen anything like that before…thanks for sharing.

An amazing transformation. It's comforting to see that it was done with respect for the wood. I also really liked your stenciled coffee table. That particular piece does look so much better painted.
best, nadia
Yes I agree with you. I might have to start stalking this reverse situation…
That is absolutely amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing I am going to need to do some research on reverse stenciling!
Wow…so much love I seriously can't even begin to express my thanks for your lovely comments and feedback. Seriously. This SAHM with a mini-writing gig for FLOR is truly honored to have actually inspired someone other than the cat. Thank you all!!
