Refinish a Piano, Feature Friday!

I love when I get emails telling me that my site has inspired you. E-mails like the one I got from Leslie Miller are always nice to hear.

She said, Hi Brooke! Just wanted to share my piano re-finish with you, thanks for inspiring me!!” It took her maybe two minutes to sit down, write the e-mail, and send it.

Those two minutes of her time MADE. MY. DAY.

Check out her amazing job of refinishing a piano.

I know first hand how much work it was to refinish my piano, so hats off to Leslie.

Here is a picture of my piano in case you missed it. šŸ˜‰
Here it is before the madness began.

All Things Thrifty version: Total cost: $100.00.  I bought the bad boy on Craigslist for $50.00 and spent about $50.00 on paint and supplies to refinish it.

Thank you for reading All Things Thrifty! Have a great weekend!

Oh yeah, I have a few fun announcements!
I am super excited because I was asked to appear on Good Things Utah again next Friday August 5th! Set your DVR! My project for the show is pretty darn sawweeeeet! (If I say so myself. ha ha.)
…AND….
All Things Thrifty is turning 2! Holy cow!!! I will be celebrating with a few surprises over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

  1. I want to buy a piano just so I can paint it! AND Yay for GTU! I love that you get to do that and inspire even more people! You are an incredible person Brooke!

  2. My grandma gave me her Piano when she passed away (our place is way too small for it right now) but someday I definitely think I will do this! It is beautiful!!

  3. Just found this blog, and I love it! I just bought my first house and move in 2 weeks, and having a blast selling all my old furniture and buying new (to me) on craigslist! I have never refinished furniture before, but I bought 2 pieces that Im gonna try to refinish. You have given me so much information, thanks! Im pretty sure I just read ALL of your "how to" posts šŸ™‚

  4. Great job, I can imagine the time spent doing it, but it was worth every bead of sweat!

  5. I am so glad you posted this. We just inherited a piano from my parents and I want to paint it. My husband looked at me like I was crazy and said no way. Now I have inspiration pictures to make my case – THANKS

  6. I love this!!! My hubby wants to get a piano so bad (he plays, I don't have a musical bone in my body) So naturally I start thinking of ways to make the piano my style…he hasn't got one yet…but it's good to know what to show him the result could be when we do get one and I break out my sander! LOL Love your stuff! MUAH!
