This moon pillow is a perfect quick project for a meditation area or even just your bedroom or office! All you need is a pillow, stencil and a can of spray paint.
Hey everyone! It’s Anna from Practical and Pretty again. I’m super stoked to be here sharing a fun, quick and super cool DIY with you today!
You really don’t need to do this EXACT pillow but I love the look of this purple pillow! What I did was dye it with logwood then tie it up and put it in an iron bath so it kind of has a tie dye look but it’s super subtle. If you want to know how to dye with logwood I made a YouTube video that I have linked here.
What you need for your spray paint moon pillow
Start by taping your stencil where you’d like it. I also rolled a bit of tape to put under the center areas so it would stay down a little better there too.
I used a part of my drop cloth to cover the edges so I taped those there also. This was to prevent overspray.
I did three light coats of silvers pray paint about 20 minutes apart. Spray painting is one of my all time favorite things so I put some of my spray paint tips together here.
I removed the tape and stencil and had this super fun pillow! How cute is this?! I probably would suggest putting a washable acrylic over this if you’re planning on washing it. We are using this for decorative purposes so if something happens and it absolutely has to be washed I will just turn it inside out and wash on delicate.
Another similar project I’ve made was this meditation pillow that I just LOVE. I think you also might like this water marbled mug project I did with spray paint.
