What can I say? I was challenged by my friends at Brawny® paper towels to host a casual backyard BBQ. I have the best job ever. I realize I’m lucky. So I worked late one night and had a party. We invited a few friends and their families over, and we laughed, ate, and the kids played until after dark.
I always have paper towels at my house. I won’t deny it. In fact, if I’m out of stock, I’m so annoyed with myself because I walk to the empty roll a hundred times a day until I restock it. It’s kind of like the battery running out in the clock. You don’t realize how many times you look at the clock until the battery is dead, right?! I’ve decided that I like the paper towels that have the pick-a-size option because I don’t need a huge sheet most of the time. Plus, I love that Brawny® has more sheets on every roll compared to the leading national brand with comparable roll and sheet size.
Before the BBQ began, I set a roll of paper towels on the table to observe what the crowd used them for. First, we used them to wipe off the table.
Then, my seven year old daughter used a few sheets to save her seat. It was the best chair in the yard. I don’t blame her for staking her claim early.
Next, Franky bonked his mouth and needed a little tender loving care from his Mom Jamie.
Then, I used them to wrap pre-cooked bacon while we heated them in the microwave. What can I say? A burger isn’t complete without bacon, right?
This hunk-a-hunk-a-burning love did a fab job of making the burgers.
We wiped faces at least 25 times with the paper towels too. I guess that’s what happens when you have 12 kids between three families.
I even caught the adults using them too. I felt like an FBI agent with my camera.
This little guy was thrilled to be getting his face wiped as you can probably tell. My pictures are so Pinterest perfect, I can’t even handle it {insert a loud shrieking “not” from the 90’s here}.
We opted for paper plates for easy clean up. I don’t regret it. And if you are wondering, yes, that is an egg on a burger. Don’t knock it till you try it.
The kids weren’t happy at all with the party.
We had to force everyone to smile for the pictures {insert sarcasm here}.
Even though we cleaned up the doggie do do before the BBQ we had a fresh one that daddy took care of quickly.
What can I say? I’m a rock star at throwing barbecues apparently.
All joking aside, we had a blast. We enjoyed spending time with great friends, ate great food, and wondered why we don’t do it more often. Thank you, Brawny®, for forcing us to be more social with our friends. We had a blast.
