Every year I put together a year in review post just to show what we’ve worked on throughout the year. It’s fun for us to look back through the entire year and see what we’ve done {or what we haven’t gotten to yet in some cases}. We hope you will enjoy 2015 in review.
We had a lot of changes in our home during this year, and I cannot believe it’s almost been a year since we put in our wood flooring. It was the best decision we ever made, hands down. It just took us a long time to do it! We had concerns and I had over analyzed it times 100, AND picking the flooring was HARD for me for some silly reason. But, without further adieu, we hope you enjoy a look at our favorite posts from 2015!!
We started 2015 off with a BANG by choosing our Hickory wood flooring from Home Depot. WE LOVE IT. I would pick it again in a heart beat. {Here is a direct link to the product if you are curious.}
Then we introduced our Guest room REVEAL. Notice, the flooring is still carpet in this picture! It’s crazy what a difference the flooring makes!
Then I removed all the tile in my house by myself, and I decided I would rather stick a needle in my eye than do that again. Just looking at the pictures of this project gives me tremors.
Then we removed the nasty carpet. {What a good little helper I have.} I haven’t been quiet about how bad I have HATED my carpet.
Then the before pictures of the house were taken to document the bare floors before we started laying the wood floors.
Then we took a small flooring-project hiatus to make this adorable Heart costume for the hubs.
Then we revealed the new wood floors! We installed them ourselves and it went pretty darn smooth.
We put some finishing touches on our Coral and Green Living Room !
And then my office reveal.
Then we designed our master bedroom ceiling for less than $100.
I doodled on my dining room chairs.…
Gave this MUCH needed bathroom a makeover.
I’m all over the place. One day I’m sharing the bathroom makeover and the next I’m sharing a recipe. But rest assured, I only share the best recipes in the whole world…hence the best breadsticks known to man.
Back to our normal programming. Want to learn how to make Roman Shades? Here is a step by step tutorial, just for you! I was soooo confused by the tutorials I read online. So I made my own that might make a little more sense.
I’ve made a few headboards in my time, and my guest bedroom headboard is one my faves! It was super inexpensive and took us less than an hour to make.
Then I made dinner for my kids in March, so I posted about it. 🙂 No, but really these French Dip Sandwiches are DELISH! These are a kid favorite at our house.
Then I made the CUTEST colorful paver planters as part of the Home Depot DIH workshops! These workshops were definitely one of my favorite parts of 2015.
Whenever I take cake to an event, I get asked for my cake recipe. I always laugh because it’s from a box, but I do add some SECRET ingredients to make it taste better. 🙂 Hence what inspired this EAT MORE CAKE post.
If you have any bay windows at your house, you will appreciate this post! Bay window DIY curtain rod.
Mother’s Day Printable worksheet for kids. We used this for Primary. 🙂

I used to make this Lemon Cake at college all the time, and it’s one of my family’s faves.

Oh and hey, Father’s Day was that month too so I whipped up some fun labels for the dads in our neighborhood!
Because of my second calling as a Stake and Ward Camp leader, I decided to put together these super fun Songbook printables!
I got brave and tried out Chalked Paint for the first time. I tell you all about it too.
Need a quick and easy craft? We made these adorable Anchor Crafts at girl’s camp! Hint, we used TISSUE paper for these!
I even baked during all this craziness! You should probably go make these lunch lady peanut butter bars. They are heavenly!

My son’s teacher introduced me to this Monster Cookie recipe and I couldn’t share it with you fast enough! Mmmm!
The primary kids LOVED when we played this Summertime Charades during singing time!

This adorable candy corn cooler was such a fun and easy idea!
Probably one of the funnest things I did last year was decorate the inside of this Tiny Storage Container from Kustom Kozy! It was the cutest little thing that you ever did see! Not to mention I still want one of my own! 🙂
After Post: {Doesn’t it make you want to go live off the grid!?!}…and paint your door pink?
If you want to see the inside of this little darling, check it out HERE.
Speaking of living off the grid, I made this cute FREE printable for those that need the outdoors in our lives on a regular basis.

After using Maskcara’s makeup for a few years, I get a lot of questions about how I do my makeup. So I made a video demonstrating my makeup routine. I’m all about getting ready in 10 minutes or less!
I decorated my mantle for Halloween! I loved my mantle this year! The brooms were super cheap and fun, and it gave the witches somewhere to park them too. 😉
And I shared how to decorate for fall with colorful buckets {or garbage cans!} from my sister’s yard.
We decorated for Fall, and I loved our neutral motif this year.
Every year we have a huge pumpkin carving party, and we serve this yummy white bean chili every year! I finally wrote a post about it!
We shared our sad stairs that we are still working on too! <—HINT HINT HUSBAND…LET’S GET CRACKIN’ ON THIS!!! Do you think he will see this? 🙂 P.S. I’m, yelling nicely.
Then after a year of having a Cricut and a Silhouette, I came to a conclusion between the two. Check out my non-sponsored opinion TAKE TWO.
I decided that in order to have a successful pumpkin carving experience, every family needs a few tools that will change their lives for the better. So I wrote a post about it after so many friends told me that they hate to carve pumpkins. If you are in this category, this post is for you. Your kids need you. Humanity needs you. Carving pumpkins cannot go extinct!
Speaking of doing fun things with your kiddos, this fun printable is fantastic for FALL!
I hope you are starting to see a pattern here, because our family had a shift this year that was for the better. We started to actually care about our happiness instead of running through life with our eyes closed. HAHA! It’s true, we tried to spend more time together, and tried to make more effort as a family to be just that, A FAMILY.
^That involved eating less cold cereal for dinner. So we got crazy one day and made Waffle Sloppy Joes. My kids were instant fans.
At some point in 2015, I added a cute bench to our office, and chatted about how being a girl can be complicated sometimes. 😉
I shared a few of my favorite things, and I even gave this box of goodies away to a lucky gal! I love these posts! {P.S. I lost my earrings again and had to go back to Target for another pair.}
I made some fun colorful wooden Christmas stockings too, thanks to the DIH workshops from Home Depot that I was involved in.
Then I designed this darling t-shirt for a friend who lost her daughter to Type 1 Diabetes in 2015. I am proud to say that the t-shirt won a design contest. I was able to help donate over $6400 to Type 1 Diabetes last year thanks to the contest from Cents of Style!!
The shirt will be for sale for the entire year of 2016 from Cents of Style and a portion of the sales will go to the Kisses for Kycie foundation to support T1D awareness and research.
If you don’t want to give a t-shirt as a give, then I have some other options for you too. If you followed me on Instagram in December, you found out that I love inexpensive gift ideas!
