One of the coolest opportunities that I have ever been given is the chance to be a part of the GMC Hidden Treasure Adventure. If you aren’t familiar with the event, let me catch you up real quick. Every year, GMC invites a group of bloggers to shop the World’s Longest Yard Sale with their amazing vehicles for a Habitat for Humanity family. They give us a small budget and we draw rooms out of the hat. I’ve been lucky to be involved for several years, and to be honest, I would go every single time if they would allow it {hint, hint}. 🙂
I started the adventure in Atlanta on CBS, and I thought it would be fun to share the clip.
We drove 2015 Yukon Denali’s, and ever since I got home, I’m in vehicle depression {it’s a thing, I promise}. The trucks were amazing, and now my mini van just isn’t cuttin’ it. I miss the buzz on my seat telling me that I’m nearing the line on the road, and the sweet red “X” on my mirror telling me that a car is in my blind spot. I’ll dream of the day I can own one.
We had a great group of bloggers, and boy did we have fun together.
If you aren’t following them all, you should be: Zondra from Six Brown Chicks, MJ from Chicagonista, Rene from Good Enough Mother, Courtney from French Country Cottage, Danielle from Finding Silver Pennies, Taryn from Design, Dining and Diapers, Beth and Nick from Sawdust and Embryos, Amy from The Idea Room, and Allison from Two Thirty Five Designs
We started the adventure at the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity Restore, and we scored some amazing finds right off the bat!
Rene and I found this BRAND NEW RUG for our little boy’s room, and if you live in the area, they had an entire corner of brand new rugs still in the plastic!!
I drew the Master Bedroom and Bath, so I got busy shopping along the way to find furnishings for their room!
Â
Zondra and I were paired together, and we had a blast road-tripping together!
The people on the sale are always so stinkin’ nice, and the husband and wife that sold me this cool piece were some of my favorites! They came down on the price, and then once she found out what I was doing with it, she decided to keep the other one for herself. Her husband was THRILLED with that decision let me tell ya! {sense the sarcasm}.
These brass beauties were only $1 each, and every room needs a little brass deer, right?
Vivian Pickard, the President of the GM foundation who was also decorating a room, found this amazing doctor’s bag for only $30 on the yard sale, and guess what!?!? It’s worth $2500!!
We didn’t do too shabby ourselves, and soon our Yukon XL Denali was filled to the brim.
This little desk was only $25 and included the chair!
And these two windows were just perfect with their chippy paint and all!
The room was a blank slate…
Stay tuned for the reveal! Â

Fun! I went on the World’s Longest Yard Sale a few years ago and had a blast. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out to be able to go again. Maybe next year!
Can’t wait to see what you did with all of your purchases and how the room turns out!
So fun! That clip is awesome and you look beautiful as always.
Oh my goodness! I am so grateful to have a been a part of it this year with you and everyone! What a great trip! Can’t wait to read your reveal post!! xo
