The Ultimate Mother in Law Gift.

I married into the coolest family. They take a close second to the family I grew up in.

I can’t stop laughing. I know you probably have pictures that look just like these, and if your Mother in law enjoys her kids {you have a 99% chance}, then she will love a book of her kids dressed up like old pictures. Promise.

My hubby and his brothers worked hard to make the pictures look as close as possible to the originals. They searched thrift stores for similar outfits, and luckily his parents live in the same house. The joy is in the details folks, look close at the facial expressions, clothing, and even hand gestures.

After an hour-long photo shoot and a lot of laughs, we had the ultimate gift for the in-laws.

We put them into a book and it was a huge hit. Please enjoy.

UPDATE, I have put together a slide show of the images SIDE by SIDE for you HERE!

I know we aren’t the first to think of something like this, but you don’t have to re-invent the wheel, right!?! Send me links to your galleries, I want to see!

xoxo,

Brooke

  1. This is so great! The Washington shirts – amazing you found the same ones! I would have loved to get this as a gift!

  2. OMG I’m dying, this is TOO FUNNY!!! I loved the footie pj’s and the Pooh pj’s. The MIL had to think this was THE best gift ever!

  3. I am sitting watching my daughter at gymnastics, laughing, as people look at me like I am CRAZY! Love it! Thank u for the laugh!!

  4. This is just too funny!!! And why are there currently two pianos side by side in the house? (I had to ask.)

I have three little boys (the oldest is 5) and this makes me wish I wasn’t always deleting the outtake photos…the ones with someone making a ridiculous face.

  5. Haha! Love it! Good job!
My siblings and I have been talking about doing this but in more than a few pictures of us my brother is in nothing but cowboy boots and his underwear -outside… Apparently he did not care for clothes as a child.
We are not sure what to do with that. I think that he is willing but I’m worried we would end up in jail for indecent exposure. =)
